The Tatung Einstein

Tatung Einstein Software

Introduction

Although technically very capable, and built to a high standard, the Einstein came to the market too late and was too expensive to be successful. Similar to Memotech with their MTX range, Tatung seem to have tried to pitch the Einstein at the top end of the market, aiming to attract the "discerning" home user who wanted a high spec home computer and the business user, but failed to attract either in significant numbers. Consequently, they suffered from the same lack of software support as Memotech; most titles were produced by Tatung themselves, with very few third party developers producing software for the Einstein.

Despite being targeted at business, most of the software that was produced was games, and most of them were conversions from other platforms.
